Pale Reflections members may enable instant message sounds in their profile. However, these sounds require that your browser be able to play .wav audio files. If your browser does not have this capability, you may be prompted to install a plugin that, once installed, will allow you to hear sounds when using our instant message system. The most typical plugin used is Apple Quicktime and your Firefox browser will probably recommend Quicktime as the plugin to be installed.
If you do not install the plugin you can continue to use the site as normal. The only difference will be that you will not be able to hear sounds when using the instant message system. You may also see a “Click here to install plugin” message at the top and bottom of the screen that you can ignore. |
