Yes, users who were members of our old site prior to 1 Oct 2007 need to register again. This is for security reasons. As an anti-spam measure, all members are required to activate their accounts when they register. This is to insure that the email address entered is a valid one and one that the user has access to.
We realize that it would have been preferable for members of our old site to have their buddy lists, message board posts and profile settings retained. However, we feel the security of our members is paramount and the decision was taken to start everyone off on a level playing field, meaning that both new members and members who used our old site have to register in the same way. |
